The Walter 'Bot's Bedroom for
fabulae_victoriana
[OOC: A thread for all bedroom happenings and private threads for the boys and their friends/family, just to keep from royally spamming up the main comm as we already do so very well.
A semi-brief description of the room from Meygan's mind, castmates, hit me if you think otherwise:
One of the larger bedrooms in the house (considering it currently is containing five full-grown automatons and a normal human and an assortment of instruments and the like), with a large window at the back. The walls were covered in The Jon's special brand of artwork, doodles of the world in the way that he saw it, colorful swirls and unidentifiable shapes and other oddities that looked like they came straight out of his music. Looking at these artistic murals for too long tends to make visitors go just a little crazy, seeing and hearing things that weren't actually there, so it is generally advised to never stay too long! His brothers are either immune or just don't even notice the crazy anymore. Likely the second.
The floor, despite The Spine's best effort, is usually quite dirty, boots and socks and clothes and gloves and hats and hula hoops and just about everything else littered around the place. If one The Jon was messy, two was just complete chaos. There was just no taming that mess.
Currently, the six inhabitants of the room share, two ye olde Victorian-style bunk beds. The Spine and Rabbit take one, while Hatchy, the two The Jons, and Michael take the other. Hatchworth has the bottom, which leaves Michael squished between both Jons on the top bunk. No doubt they tumble headfirst out of that precarious sleeping space quite often. Luckily for The Jons', they have thick brassy heads and likely won't even awaken from the fall.
Considering they are doing their damned best to keep up with busking and their father is on the hunt to find them real venues to perform, their musical instrument selection no doubt takes up a very large amount of the free space available there.
I think I'll try to update a list inside of this thread to keep up with what they've actually managed to acquire. Nice to keep an inventory on these things!
AS FOR NOW, use this thread as you see fit. Throw whatever and whomever you like in.

Not that he was at all complaining. Nearly a month together and, surprisingly, there hadn't been any bumps or stumbles along the road yet. Just sweetness and affection and quite a great deal of fun. It seemed that each and every day they spent together, Alyss was growing into her own person, a bit influenced by Rabbit, yes, but he was only helping her to blossom and socialize and see the world, giving her all of the experiences in life she'd sorely missed out on these last hundred years, providing her with the options to decide what she liked and didn't like and everything inbetween.
And it was a delight on Rabbit's end to watch happen, the difference in her smile from their first meeting to this one right now. To know he was actually helping her was... well, something he certainly had never experienced before. He never would have guessed a robot would be capable of helping a human quite this much, even if Alyss wasn't quite the average human woman.
Rabbit received the hug and kiss with a grin, the hum of his internals strong when she stepped close, gears ticking in a smooth rhythm and everything in place. "G-good. I like th' way ya think. Meet me downstairs in ten minutes." A pause. "That gonna be long 'nough? I know sometimes women like t' t-t-take their time..."
no subject
"It should be long enough," of course she didn't know about women tending to sometimes take longer for whatever reasons in getting ready. It was simple enough for her since she didn't do make-up or any of those little extra touches that mothers usually taught their daughters in some times.
Not to mention her own mother didn't seem to care about those things either. They both possessed a sort of natural-unnatural beauty.
"Ten minutes."
no subject
Whenever Alyss would finally emerge from changing, her copper automaton would be waiting by the door, dressed up to his finest - a pair of fitted black slacks, an elegantly designed vest from his Pappy, and billow-y sleeved black shirt - waiting for his lady to appear, whistling a tune and tapping his foot.
no subject
Still, she came down to meet him soon enough with blue feather still tucked so nicely into her hair; it pulled back somewhat just to show off how the dress fit her a little. The only change to how she usually went out, really. To help the feather be shown off as well-
"Ready?"
no subject
"Ab~so~lute~ly! Let's g-get goin'! What's on our special agenda f-first? I feel like I'm always draggin' ya 'round, so, why d-don't ya lead me a lil' t'day. I'm up for anythin'." And really, he was. Rabbit was never opposed to giving anything a try. Made artificial life more exciting, didn't it?
no subject
"Well, I know of a place that serves food and has live music," it was in the nicer part of the city, nothing like the usual dive of a pub that could be found near enough to the boarding house. Alyss did frequent those simply because of how close they were, "How about a little bite to eat with a side of dancing? After we can go to the park."
Park shenanigans.
no subject
Except Bobby Darin, but everyone knew he was secretly a KazooLander.
"Dinin' an' dancin' sounds great t' me. But I'll have ya know, I'm quite th' talented dancer! I hope ya c-can keep up."
no subject
She had only ever danced with Cheshire before.
no subject
"T-t-that was a pun!" Look who was incredibly proud of his girlfriend, leaning over to brush his free fingers against her cheek while he laughed. "I b-bet ya'll b-be flyin' all over th' place, feet b-barely even touchin' th' floor!"
no subject
"That was a pun," and was likely his fault due to how much time they had been spending with eachother since they met. Even over what would be such a short amount of time to most, it was enough. She leaned against his touch, smile rather bright, "Like dancing on nothing at all."
no subject
"D-d-dancin' on air~" A turn in the path, further into the city. "Like a c-cute, lil' cloud or somethin'. Fluffy an' white."
no subject
Drumming her fingers over Rabbit's arm before fingers curled back into his sleeve. It was as much of a tease as anything else, really. She knew she was anything but angelic, despite appearences and sweet smiles.
no subject
And teasing tone or not, with the way she floated into his life and brought quite a bit of happiness along with her? It was almost kinda true. Though that was a sap-level that Rabbit wasn't quite prepared to go down at this moment in time. Besides, that was more the Spine's thing.
They passed by the usual pubs and dirty taverns that they sometimes frequented, drawing the usual amount of attention from the crowd as they walked on side-by-side, quite obviously together with how they smiled and laughed and touched. With all they liked to go out around the two, the pair were no doubt making a name for themselves with some of the residents.
Some good impressions and some not so good.
But fromt here it didn't take long to find the place that Alyss had suggested, a place on the nicer side of town where they wouldn't be quite so well known.
no subject
It was the only reason she went to this particular establishment, really. Other than the delicious food that gave options from each district; in the middle of them all almost yet not. So many different styles of dress and decour were inside, smiles were friendly and the music could already be heard.
Upbeat, yet nothing she was familiar with. It wasn't strictly Europeon, but a developed mix due to the way the city was.
"What do you think, Rabbit?"
no subject
Rabbit whistled low, taking in the setting before him, appreciating the appeal of such a place before he turned to give Alyss a grin. She'd picked well, he couldn't deny that. "I like it! S-seems like a nice place." A pause, head tilting in silence for a minute before he nodded approvingly. "Th' music ain't so bad either. An' that's c-comin' from a professional." He pulled her a little further in, optics flickering from here to there, simply taking in the sights before him. "What kinda food do they got here? Whatcha' in th' mood for?"
His bi-colored gaze flitted back to her, a curving smile to those copper faceplates of his. "Or do ya gotta w-work up an appetite first?"
no subject
"They've food from every district represented here," and a kitchen large enough to provide whatever was needed in its preperation. She'd gotten a little tour the first time she found the place, 'for the cute girl' of course. She had so many questions and one of the older woman who ran the place was more than happy to answer them, show her things. "Some dishes are better than others, and they've a rather wide selection of drinks, too."
No more dancing squid bowls, though.
Alyss smiled a little warmer, "I believe I do need to work up an appetite first,"
no subject
His faceplates curved, mouth sharpening into a sharp, toothy grin, which was really all Rabbit needed to convey that he was ready to sweep her off her feet onto the dance floor whenever she wanted.
no subject
That was another pun, apparently.
no subject
Rabbit did his best to stick to their area, but really, it didn't take long for him to get too into the dancing, a hand wrapping around Alyss' waist, another holding her hand, swinging his hips and twirling her around, head swaying back and forth to the beat.
no subject
Alyss couldn't stop smiling, managing to keep up with Rabbit's steps despite the height difference that stood out. It helped when her feet didn't really have to touch the ground in any of the steps that landed on air just as solidly as when her feet were on the floor. Laughing and really just enjoy herself with him.
He was so easy to have fun with, and it was one of the things she enjoyed about behing with Rabbit.
no subject
The woman's floating may have attracted the attention of the people they were sharing the dance floor with, but it was practically normal business for Rabbit as they danced along in their own little world, the robot eventually singing along to the music, making up his own lyrics, mostly ones that were purely nonsense and silliness, though a few of the songs would be all about Alyss and attempting to see how many things he could rhyme with the name 'Alice'.
no subject
Not that she had ever met many people...
After a while fingers pressed against his shoulder in a tap, "I think there's a free table over there," time to sit and eat. And drink, of course.
no subject
Before too long, they were plopping into chairs, Rabbit still grinning pleasantly, his optics dimmed in brightness, glowing softly. "I think a break is a g-good idea. Probably should f-fill up while I'm at it."
no subject
"That may be a very good idea, and if we're lucky they might be having one of their floor shows today," yep. She deffinately came here a few times before, at least. The distance was the only reason it wasn't very often, "A little entertainment while we rest."
Alyss had put a deal of thought into where she wanted to take him today.
no subject
After her skirts were brushed down, Rabbit's hand would rest delicately against her knee, fondly keeping his copper fingers planted there under the table and out of sight.
It struck the copper 'bot a little at how much Alyss knew about the place, making him wonder just how often she snuck out to this part of town to visit the establishment, but the thought behind her decision to bring him here wasn't lost on Rabbit. He squeezed her knee and grinned, nudging her shoulder gently with his (so so gently) before turning an eye back on her. "What kinda shows d-do they usually got goin'? Anythin' good enough t' make me d-drag my attention away from ya for once?"
